This has nurtured in me a curiosity about the relationship between present and past, setting and character,
both in my fictional and real-life worlds.
I earned a BA degree in English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown,
where I was awarded the Claire R. Garber award for my short story What She Wants.
During that time I worked in various IT positions at the local bra factory.
I currently live in Windber, PA, with my always-supportive husband, Dave, and our cat, Misty.
Chazzy, the cat who used to run the place, recently passed away. In some ways he's still in charge.
(That's him on the hammock with me in the pic, keeping a close eye on a chippy, I'm sure.)
These days I get loads of inspiration and a little pocket-cash by substitute teaching in local schools.
Without the help and encouragement of my friends at the
Works in Progress Writers' Workshop
my determination would wane and life would be a lot less interesting.
